Player Bio
Bailey is a Western Carolina graduate hailing from Jonesboro Georgia. In 2007 Bailey was a pre-season All-Southern Conference selection. In 2006 he had ten total tackles, including eight solo stops, with two interceptions in four games. As a sophomore, Bailey set Western Carolina strength and conditioning record in the summer of 2005 with a time of 3.97 in the pro shuttle and, in 2006, set a record in the L Drill with a time of 6.73. He was ranked seventh on the team with thirty three tackles. He added to interceptions, including a 28-yard return for a touchdown at Chattanooga. Bailey's freshman campaign helped WCU rank 15th nationally in pass defense (163.64 yards/game) while playing in ten games. Prior to Western, Carlton Bailey ranked among the nations' top 25 defensive backs in Athlon and Street and Smith. He was also a two-time first team all-region and all-area selection while attending Jonesboro HS.
