Wes Brown, was one of the nation’s top high school running backs and played for Maryland in the Big Ten Conference for four years. Brown, 6'0" and 205 pounds, showed flashes of greatness at Maryland, rushing for 121 yards on 25 carries in a game against North Carolina State of the Atlantic Coast Conference. He played in 38 games over four years at Maryland, rushing for 1,080 career yards and scoring 11 touchdowns on the ground. He scored two TDs in a game against Iowa, ran for 52 yards against Michigan State and added 34 yards on the ground against Wisconsin.
The native of Baltimore was also a solid receiver out of the backfield for the Terrapins, accumulating 437 receiving yards in his collegiate career. “Wes is a talented young man who has four years of Power 5 football experience under his belt,” said Roberson. “He has played against some of the best major-college defenses in the nation, and he provides another potential weapon for our offense as we look to build on last year’s playoff success.”
Brown was a consensus 4-star player in high school and was ranked the 11th-best running back in the nation by Scout.com. He played in the prestigious Under Armour All-American game, and chose home-state Maryland over the University of Miami and Vanderbilt, among others.
