Another defensive player of note is Donovan Jackson, a 5-10. 180-pound defensive back from Detroit. Intelligent and hardworking Jackson is the kind of player who always places himself in good position.
The Junior College All-American defensive back for Jeff Linder at Minnesota West, had five interceptions – two of which were returned for a touchdown – along with 17 pass break-ups and three kickoff return touchdowns for the Blue Jays. Jackson went on to be named an all-conference and all-region performer. Jackson comes from a decorated prep career at Loyola (Mich.) High School, earning all-state and all-conference honors. Donovan was considered one of nation's top return specialists as senior, playing in All-American Bowl. Jackson also Loyola as the school-record holder in the 100m dash.
A broken hand didn’t stop him from making 30 tackles in his junior season with Austin Peay and then went on to record 15 tackles, three pass breakups, and 2 interceptions in his senior season with Morgan State.
Jackson looks to bring his aggressive and instinctive play to Green Bay’s backfield this season with the Blizzard.
