Green Bay adds Cornerback and Open Tryout Standout

October 24th, 2018

Linebacker Matt Zakrzewski has signed with the Blizzard following his performance at the Blizzard open tryouts held at Sports Emporium in De Pere on November 20th.  Zakrzewski, 6’2 250 appeared in 24 games with Indiana before transferring to New Haven University for his final two seasons of eligibility. Zakrzewski recorded 210 tackles including 13.5 TFL in his two seasons with New Haven. “Matt is a hard-hitting playmaker” said coach Roberson when bringing him in from the open tryout. Matt will now compete for a roster spot at Linebacker this season.

The second defensive player signed recently was Cornerback Isaiah Brown from New Mexico University. Isaiah, also known as IB, had an injury riddled career with the Lobos but still appeared in 22 games. Brown came to the University of New Mexico from Katy (Texas) High School, where he had 10 interceptions during his senior season in 2012. Katy went 16-0 and won a Class 6A state title. IB will look to bring his speed and playmaking ability to the Blizzard this 2019 season.
