Former Blizzard wide receiver Tim Lukas recently signed with the Montreal Allouetes of the Canadian Football League and will be looking to get a roster spot this preseason with the team. Lukas played one game for the Blizzard and was able to haul in a touchdown pass from Bryan Hicks.
Lukas was nice enough to spend some time to reflect on his time at the Blizzard with some questions.
- What was your overall experience that you had with the Blizzard? What was it like to be on the team?
My experience with the Blizzard was exceptional. I really couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to play for a great coach in Mr. Roberson, Coach Miller, Coach Moge’s and the rest of the staff in Green Bay. I was just grateful for the opportunity to be closer to my family and play the game I love. After dealing with some difficult times, it was imperative for me to be closer to them and the fact that I got to join a great group of guys in Hicks, Mallot, B.J., Andre, and really the whole team, down to O.G. and Angie, made it that much more comfortable for me to be there, even if it was for a short time.
- What is something that you learned or gained from your time in Green Bay? Was it a good transition for you?
The most impactful concept I learned came from our word of the day sessions each practice. Each time it was humbling to hear players share their knowledge and wisdom which spreads beyond football. Those personal things, opening up to guys who you devote hours upon hours to bettering yourself with, is what makes football a family sport.
- What was your favorite memory that you had with the Blizzard?
My favorite moment with the team was probably the team BBQ on Veteran’s Day. We had spent the morning at a Veterans memorial service, and it was a very respectful and heartwarming event for us to be there, but of course we still had our fun joking around in the vans all the time and playing games at the BBQ. All in all I’m always thankful for every opportunity I get, and that was my last message to the team was to take advantage of every opportunity because sometimes life doesn’t give you many, so make each that you do get count for something.
We wish Tim the best of luck in his future!
