Green Bay Blizzard defeat Bismarck Bucks

Green Bay, WI – As the old saying goes, "The third time's the charm" – and this proved to be true for the Blizzard in Saturday's game between Green Bay and the Bismarck Bucks.
After falling to Bismarck in back-to-back match-ups in weeks one and two earlier this season, the Blizzard emerged victorious 55-14 in the teams' third and final showdown.
Both the Blizzard and the Bucks started strong, scoring on their opening possessions. Jack Sheehan connected with Keshaun Taylor for a 15-yard touchdown catch before Jayru Campbell ran in for a 1-yard TD, respectively.
With 7:30 left in the first quarter, Sheehan took it himself into the endzone to put the Blizzard up by seven. Green Bay quickly got the ball back, thanks to a fumble forced by James Brown and recovered by Tyrell Jacobs, and capitalized with a 14-yard Taylor touchdown.
Up 20-6 at the start of Q2, Steven Newbold caught an 11-yard TD pass from Sheehan. Later that quarter, Dajour Nesbeth picked off Bucks QB Tahj Tolbert. Just before halftime, Sheehan connected with a wide-open Taylor for his third touchdown of the game, extending the Blizzard's lead to 34-6.
At the six-minute mark of the third quarter, Newbold recorded his second catch – and his second TD – of the night. The Bucks responded with a touchdown of their own from Tolbert to Benjamin Glines, bringing the score to 41-14.
Green Bay continued to take advantage of Bismarck's turnovers. An interception by Brown led to Newbold's third TD, and Allaah Sessions's forced fumble resulted in a 37-yard catch-and-run touchdown for Taylor. Momodou Mbye sealed the game with a pick in the endzone late in Q4, and the clock ran out on a 55-14 victory for Green Bay, their highest-scoring game this season.
Sheehan had eight touchdowns on the night – one rushing and seven passing. Four of those TDs were recorded by Taylor and the other three by Newbold. Nick Jaworski was a perfect 7/7 on PATs. The Blizzard defense also performed very well, recording six turnovers and two sacks while allowing the Bucks only 91 total yards on offense.
With this win, Green Bay improved to 3-5 on the season. They will host a rematch vs. the Quad City Steamwheelers – who defeated the Blizzard 49-31 on April 30 – at the Resch Center on Friday, May 13 at 7:05 PM.
