It came down to the final seconds of the game, but the Green Bay Blizzard won a wild back-and-forth thriller to clinch their first-ever victory against the Sioux Falls Storm on Friday night at the Resch Center.

Sioux Falls got one point on the opening kickoff with a Rouge, but Green Bay responded with a 5-yard touchdown to wide receiver Keshaun Taylor on their first possession.

The Storm and Blizzard then traded a pair of rushing TDs by running back Nate Chavious and back-up quarterback Ladarius Skelton, respectively, to make it 14-8 at the end of the first quarter.

QB Dalton Sneed took the lead back for Sioux Falls with a 3-yard run to start Q2 before Skelton returned the Storm's subsequent kickoff 53 yards to the end zone, making the score 20-15.

With 8:30 remaining in the half, Sneed got another rushing touchdown to put Sioux Falls ahead 22-20. Green Bay then quickly added six more points to their side of the scoreboard when running back Tim Whitfield took another Storm kickoff to the house.

Blizzard kicker Nick Jaworski kicked a 23-yard field goal to end the half with GB ahead 30-22.

Both teams struggled offensively throughout Q3. Sioux Falls' kicker Sawyer Petre missed two field goals, but Jaworski hit a 44-yard bomb, scoring the quarter's only points.

Although the third quarter was a defensive showdown, both teams found their offensive prowess again in Q4. Storm WR Carlos Thompson cut into the Blizzard's lead with a 6-yard score before Skelton found the end zone for the third time with a 1-yard quarterback sneak. Sneed then responded with touchdown #3 for himself, putting the Storm back in it, 39-37.

With only three seconds remaining, Petre kicked a 20-yard field goal in what appeared to be the dagger to the Blizzard's hopes at an upset. Miraculously, down 40-39, Allaah Sessions fielded and recovered a short squib kick by the Storm, giving Green Bay an all-or-nothing chance.

Jaworski, with the game riding on his shoulders, delivered – hitting a 35-yard FG as time expired to give the Blizzard an incredible 42-40 win.

Green Bay (6-8) travels to Texas to take on the Frisco Fighters next week, while the Storm (7-6) will face the Massachusetts Pirates at home.
