The Green Bay Blizzard (12-3) are on the road in Sioux Falls this Saturday, July 20th to face the Sioux Falls Storm (3-12) in the regular season finale. Kickoff at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center is scheduled for 7:05 PM CST.

Green Bay strides into this week's matchup as the current number-one seed in the Eastern Conference, thanks to a win over the Jacksonville Sharks last week. The game went blow-for-blow, with nine lead changes and the Blizzard holding an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter. A late Jacksonville score brought the game within three, but after an unsuccessful onside kick, Green Bay was able to run out the clock, winning 45-42.

Sioux Falls comes into this week's matchup trying to end the season on a high note after losing their last five games, including last week's loss to the Iowa Barnstormers. The Storm played catch-up most of the game and trailed by as many as 29 points. The team rallied late, but the Barnstormers' lead was too much to overcome, as the Storm fell 65-54.

This is the third battle between these two teams this season. The first matchup was on April 19th, when the Blizzard hosted the Storm. Green Bay QB Max Meylor rushed for three touchdowns and walked away with a 48-35 win. The second matchup was held in Sioux Falls. The game was hard-fought, and the scoring went back and forth, with the Storm taking a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter. Green Bay cut the lead to two with a touchdown and a deuce on the ensuing kickoff. A late Storm touchdown left the Blizzard trailing by eight with under two minutes left. Green Bay drove deep into Sioux Falls territory, positioned to tie the game, but an interception by Elijah Reed sealed the game, giving the Sioux Falls Storm their first win of the season, 46-38.

If Green Bay wants to secure the number one seed in the Eastern Conference with a win, they first need to stop Storm QB Jiya Wright. Wright took over the quarterback role four games ago and has thrown ten touchdowns and three interceptions. Defensively, Green Bay needs to limit DB Elijah Reed, who is third in the IFL in tackles this season (90). Also, Blizzard QB Max Meylor has to keep the ball away from DB LaRonji Vason-McCoy. Vason-McCoy has three interceptions this season, including two back in Week 10 against Jacksonville, which earned him Week 10 IFL Defensive Player of the Week.

If Sioux Falls wants to end their season with a win, they first need to figure out how to stop Max Meylor. Meylor has ten total touchdowns, including six rushing touchdowns, through two matchups against the Storm this season. Sioux Falls also needs to contain WR Lowell Patron Jr. Patron has three touchdowns against the Storm this season. Two were scored against Sioux Falls in April, earning him Week 6 Blizzard Player of the Game. Stopping these two offensive threats would give Sioux Falls their best chance at victory. On defense, the Storm need to corral three IFL Defensive Player of the Week performers in LB Julius Wilkerson, DB Ravarius Rivers, and DL Rafiq Abdul-Wahid.  Wilkerson, the Week 12 winner, led the team in tackles against Jacksonville a week ago, which earned him Blizzard Player of the Game. Rivers, the Week 13 winner, is tied for second in the IFL in interceptions (seven) and is fourth in total tackles (85.5). Finally, Abdul-Wahid had a dominant performance against Jacksonville, including two sacks and a safety, which earned him Week 18 honors.
