Green Bay Blizzard

Before joining the Blizzard, Coach Levi Nelson served as a head high school football coach for 9 seasons. He holds a doctorate in sport and performance psychology and a masters degree in sport science with an emphasis on coaching. In addition to his duties with the Blizzard, Nelson serves as a certified trainer for The Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), licensed speaker through The Way Of Champions, coach developer for USA Hockey, teacher/professor and is a published author. 
 

Coach Nelson has earned multiple awards for his leadership abilities and was one of PCA’s 50 National Double-Goal Coach Award Winners in 2018, a national award honoring coaches who strive to win while teaching life lessons through sport. He was also the recipient of the Semper Fi Coach Award honoring one Ohio high school football coach who had overcome significant obstacles in order to succeed, and who displays faithfulness to the mission of their team while exemplifying the Marine standard of excellence in developing leaders. In 2023 he was recognized as a Distinguished Teacher by The Greater Green Bay Chamber.  
 

Born and raised in St.Clairsville Ohio, Nelson resides in Green Bay, with his wife Lindsay, and their three children: Lyla, Luke, and Ellie.
