Biography

Momodou Mbye enters his third season with the Green Bay Blizzard and his fourth in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Momodou is a Pawtucket, R.I. native who played football for his home state school, the University of Rhode Island. He was a captain and a four-year starter for the Rams. 

In 2021, Mbye appeared in nine games for the Blizzard. He recorded 52 tackles (22 solo, 30 assisted), in addition to two tackles for loss. Mbye also had three interceptions, three pass break-ups, and one fumble recovery. In 2022, he recorded 83 tackles, three tackles for loss, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Mbye has been a Second Team All-IFL defensive back twice (2021 and 2022) and he was selected for the All-IFL and All-Rookie team in 2021.
