May 2nd, 2021| The Green Bay Blizzard gained their first win of the season against the Massachusett Pirates with a final score of 40-36. The game kept everyone on the edge of their seats the entire time. 

    The first quarter showed just how strong both teams' defense was, with the first score of the game not coming until Green Bay's Henry Nell kicked a 28 yard field goal to bring the Blizzard ahead 3-0. In the final seconds of the first quarter the Pirates responded with Alej Bennifield running the ball in to bring the first quarter ending 7-3 in favor of the Pirates. 

    The Blizzard soon responded when Trevon Saunders ran 57 yards to score on the kick return. The Blizzard scored 10 points in the last minute of the half with Henry Nell kicking a 41 yard field goal, then receiving a safety, a deuce, and another field goal. Bring the score 20-14 Blizzard on top at the end of the first half. 

    The Blizzard extended their lead in the second half with Kerrion Moore running the ball in 7 yards. The Pirates did not take long to answer back with Q Ayers catching a 10 yard pass to bring his team within a touchdown. Just two minutes later the Pirates brought the gap even closer with them receiving a safety, and taking the lead when Alej Bennifield ran the ball 7 yards to score a touchdown. 

   Starting off the final quarter the Pirates extended their lead when they forced a safety. Extending their lead even more with Alej Bennifield scoring his third touchdown of the night. However with just under two minutes left in the game Eric Thomas Jr. scored for the Blizzard bringing them just two points down. The highlight of the game came when Green Bay's Momodou Mbye caught Henry Nell's onside kick, giving them possession of the ball with just over a minute left in the game. The Green Bay Blizzard capitalized on this opportunity with Kezlow Smith catching a 24 yard pass, bringing the Blizzard ahead and the final score of the game to 40-36 Green Bay.
