The Green Bay Blizzard will head east for their first road game of the season. The Blizzard are set to take on the Massachusetts Pirates on Sunday at the DCU Center at 12:05 p.m. CT. 

Green Bay (0-1) is looking to bounce back after a disappointing start to the 2023 season following an abysmal performance against Frisco in Week 1. 

Sunday's contest will be the Pirates' first game of the season. Massachusetts was ranked fourth in the IFL's Preseason Coaches Poll. 

Green Bay's young defense will be tested on Sunday. Massachusetts returns a handful of All-IFL veterans, including QB Alejandro Bennifield – the 2021 United Bowl MVP – and WR Thomas Owens. Both players are entering their fourth season with the team. 

The Blizzard offense will look to establish a rhythm and gain some confidence this week, starting with their two rookie QBs. WR Steve Newbold and RB Terrence Smith will both hope to build on their two-touchdown performances in Week 1. 

Looking to disrupt Green Bay's offense will be former Blizzard DB Momodou Mbye. Mbye – a Rhode Island native who spent two seasons with Green Bay – chose to stay close to home this season, signing with Massachusetts.
